One-off/Function Hire

Stanton Village Hall is suitable for a range of one-off events and functions such as Workshops, Training, AGMs, Wakes, Christenings, Children's Birthday Parties, Fun Days, Exhibitions and Meetings. It is conveniently situated near to Burton-upon-Trent, Newhall, Swadlincote, Moira, Rosliston, Linton, Bretby, Blackfordby and Ashby De La Zouch.


We're currently not entertaining adult evening parties with the exception of weddings.

Please note we're currently having to adjust to COVID restrictions.

POST: Please download the Hire Form from Hire Documents and complete. Once complete, please return the form and your deposit (£50) to Fernlea, Bridle Lane, Stanton, DE15 9TQ.

EMAIL: Alternatively, email your completed form to and we will send an invoice requesting online payment (to be made within two weeks).


  • We currently charge £15 per hour for one-off/function hire. 

  • Surcharges apply for some activities and help cover extra power and licenses needed:

    • +£10 if you'll be using our power for discos or bouncy castles.​

    • +£5 if alcohol will be served.​

    • +£5 if using kitchen.

    • +£5 if using stage (or included in disco power surcharge above). 

  • Children's party hirers usually book 4-5 hours to allow for setup and cleanup. The minimum hire period on a weekend is 4 hours. 

  • If you're using Abi's Entertainments for bouncy castles etc we will discount your hire by £5 as they take care of locking up etc saving our hardworking volunteers from giving up their weekend. You'll still need to book and pay with them separately. 

  • We are able to issue invoices and payment terms to larger organisations. 

  • We also allow hire for an entire weekend - where available, this gives you access to the Hall from 6pm on the Friday until 3pm on the Sunday for £250. The Hall must close by 11pm each evening. Please contact us to discuss: 


  • A £50 damages deposit will be taken from you at the time of booking.

  • Our terms and conditions outline circumstances where this may be withheld (for instance, if damage is caused). 

  • A £100 deposit will be held for whole weekend hire, returnable in line with our terms (usually if no damage or loss/theft).


  • Function/one-off hirers will be let into the Hall by a volunteer at the start of their booking.

  • The Hall will be locked at the end of your booking time by the volunteer. Delays to exit interrupt the lives of our volunteers who freely give up their time - to combat this, we will retain £10 of your deposit if you are more than 10 minutes late exiting our venue. Your deposit will be lost in full if you are more than 30 minutes late exiting the venue. 

  • Weekend-long hirers will be given a key set for their hire period. 

  • Please arrive on time and be ready to leave the Hall at the end of your booked time (having returned it to a clean and tidy state).


  1. Check our Calendar for your date and time. Check with others they're available (like bouncy castle providers)

  2. If the hall is available, complete our booking form

  3. We will then be in touch to confirm your booking - factors such as volunteer availability to open up need to be taken into consideration for instance. This is usually no problem.

  4. We'll also send you an email invoice requesting payment. The deposit amount is required to secure your booking, and the full balance is due before your hire period. The invoice will let you pay whole or part of the amount owing. 

  5. We'll get in touch about a week before your hire to confirm times and other arrangements. If you don't hear from us please do get in touch to politely chase this - this acts as a fail-safe in our process.  


Hire includes access to the main hall, car park and garden (as outlined here).


If booking our kitchen, this includes use of two kettles, a microwave and fridge and teacups/saucers.


You will need to bring your own plates, cutlery and cooking equipment.


We've put together a handy checklist that we send when we confirm your booking. 

NOTE We no longer have a bar service available. Should you wish alcohol to be sold at your event you will need to use an external bar service with a license to sell alcohol. We may require proof of their personal license.


We kindly ask that you leave the Hall in the clean and tidy condition that you found it.

One black rubbish bag can be placed in our external black bin, any rubbish beyond that must be taken away with you. Glass may be sorted and placed in the main green bin. 


Please allow time in your booking period for cleaning up.
