One-off/Function Hire

Stanton Village Hall is suitable for a range of one-off events and functions such as Workshops, Training, Wakes, Christenings, Children's Birthday Parties, Fun Days, Exhibitions and Meetings. It is conveniently situated near to Burton-upon-Trent, Newhall, Swadlincote, Moira, Rosliston, Bretby, Blackfordby and Ashby De La Zouch. 


Our online booking system makes it easy to find a time and pay for your session.

We do ask that you read the information below before booking. 


For those unable to book online we also offer a paper booking process:

POST: Please download the Hire Form from Hire Documents and complete. Once complete, please return the form and your deposit (£50) to Fernlea, Bridle Lane, Stanton, DE15 9TQ.

EMAIL: Alternatively, email your completed form to and we will send an invoice requesting online payment (to be made within two weeks).


  • We currently charge £15 per hour for one-off function hire.

  • There is also a single alcohol and/or high-energy surcharge where bouncy castles, or discos will be used. This is an added charge of £5 and helps to cover energy bills and premises license cost. 

  • Children's party hirers usually book 4-5 hours to allow for setup and cleanup. 

  • You can book using our online booking system to find a time and pay.

  • We are able to issue invoices and payment terms to larger organisations. 

  • We also allow hire for an entire weekend - where available, this gives you access to the Hall from 6pm on the Friday until 3pm on the Sunday for £250. The Hall must close by 11pm each evening. A £100 deposit will also be held for whole weekend hire, returnable in line with our terms (usually if no damage or loss/theft). A £50 damages deposit will be taken from you at the time of booking. Our terms and conditions outline circumstances where this may be withheld (for instance, if damage is caused). 


  • Function/one-off hirers will be let into the Hall by a volunteer at the start of their booking.

  • The Hall will be locked at the end of your booking time by the volunteer. 

  • Please arrive on time and be ready to leave the Hall at the end of your booked time (having returned it to a clean and tidy state).


Use our online booking system to find a time and pay. Please note the prices shown include your refundable deposit. You must also include time for setting up and cleaning away (i.e. the time you book is the time the Hall will be opened and closed for you). 

We will then be in touch to confirm your booking - factors such as volunteer availability to open up need to be taken into consideration for instance. This is usually no problem.


Hire includes access to the main hall, kitchen and stage, car park and garden (as outlined here). Our kitchen includes oven, two kettles, a microwave and fridge (we may be able to make a second fridge available also).


You will need to bring your own plates, cutlery and cooking equipment.


We've put together a handy checklist that we send when we confirm your booking. 

NOTE We no longer have a bar service available.


We kindly ask that you leave the Hall in the clean and tidy condition that you found it.

One black rubbish bag can be placed in our external wheelie bins, any rubbish beyond that must be taken away with you. 


Please allow time in your booking period for cleaning up.

It is important that you read our terms and conditions before booking.

To book:

  1. Check your time is available on our calendar and review our Terms and Conditions;

  2. Complete the booking form below, remembering to book for setup and cleanup time too. Your end-time is the time you should be ready to leave the Hall (clean and tidy);

  3. Our volunteer team will review your booking within 48 hours and will send you an email with an invoice and link to pay both the hire fee and damages deposit;

  4. Pay for your booking. Should the deposit not be paid within 7 days of receipt then your booking may be cancelled;

  5. We will contact you to confirm payment has been received and to confirm your booking. 

  6. 7 days before your hire period we will contact you to confirm arrangements for entering and using the Hall (we usually have a volunteer open up for you but on occasion may ask you to collect a key earlier than your booking time).
