  • School Parking

We write to correct a notice that was sent by the school to parents today (22nd April 2021). The wording of the notice was not provided by the Stanton Village Hall committee. There is no donation-in-return for parking arrangement in place and it would be against the Code of Fundraising Practice for us to invite this. Neither are donations being accepted for upkeep of the car park. We do invite our whole community to make donations at any time to support our Charity in general. Details on supporting the Hall can be found here: https://www.villagehallstanton.com/volunteer

  • Your village NEEDS YOU!

Here at the village hall we are looking for volunteers that would be willing to check up on our community defibrillator outside the hall weekly and monthly. checks will include tasks like ensuring the battery is working and that everything is in tact and in working order. if you feel you have time to spare or just want to help out and volunteer then please get in touch by filling in our contact form on the site. (https://www.villagehallstanton.com/contact) The defibrillator may not be something that gets used every day but that just makes it so much more important to keep it in working order ready for when it is needed.

  • Hirer and user guidance: COVID

Please see attached guidance on using the Hall currently. UPDATE: 2nd December Some of our activities can continue such as childrens sessions and slimming world weigh in only. We are not able to allow private party hire, fitness or other entertainment activity in tier 3. GENERAL - The Hall is open for our regular hirers classes. Please contact your class leads about when they are restarting and any additional measures they have in place. - From 8th August all non-fitness users must wear facemasks. For more guidance on exemptions please see this government guidance . Children under 11 years don't need to wear one. - For busier events (but still less than 29) you may wish to enter users through the entrance and exit out of the fire exit to avoid overcrowding. - You should try to keep the hall ventilated whilst in use, but close the windows at the end of your hire. - There are sanitisers at the main entrance and emergency exits. We also have masks to buy if any of your party forget theirs. - Try to limit persons in the kitchen and toilets to one at a time. - You should clean all touch points at the end of your hire. - You must not attend if you or anyone in your household has symptoms. - We have an NHS test and trace barcode in place and would encourage you to check-in to the venue using the NHS COVID-19 app. Your session leader may have an alternative tracing system in place. - the Hall must be closed by 10pm. PRIVATE EVENTS/FUNCTIONS - We are currently unable to entertain social/party bookings. In all cases 2 metre distancing between households must be observed. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • AGM - DELAYED

Our AGM continues to be delayed owing to COVID. We've several trustees and volunteers who are currently shielding and are unable to join us via alternative online means. We will provide further updates in due course.

  • Preparing to re-open

We're busy preparing to re-open the Hall since fitness activity can resume from the 25th July and social activities were made possible in early July. Initially we're limiting our opening to regular hirers but will consider other hirers on a case by case basis. Under no circumstances can we accommodate large parties or functions at the current time (July/August 2020). Things may seem a little different as we ensure our Hall is COVID secure and we're working with session leaders to ensure this is communicated clearly. The key principles include: you shouldn't attend the hall if you or anyone in your household has symptoms. you should use hand sanitiser on entry. There is some provided but as a charity with limited funds it'd be great if you could use your own where possible. You may be asked to exit via the fire exit in the main hall so as to prevent congregation in the foyer. The degree to which this is necessary will depend on the number in your session and whether there are any sessions after yours (this mainly affects Thursday evenings). Please be careful when exiting onto the car park. we're limited capacity to 29 persons inside the Hall. 2 metres social distancing between households should be adhered to. we may remove soft furnishings to avoid difficult to clean surfaces being touched. your session leader will clean touch points before and after your activity. we're discouraging use of the kitchen at present to limit touch points. the hall may be a little cooler that usual as session leaders are being encouraged to ventilate the hall. if you fall ill with COVID symptoms in the days following your session please inform your session leader to support track, test and trace efforts. Bingo won't be restarting just yet - look out for updates here or on our Facebook page..

  • COVID - Your Thoughts Please

With the ongoing coronavirus uncertainty we'd like to hear your thoughts on how the Hall should respond through the remainder of the year. How the Hall is used At the current time, we are of course closed to the public for both private and regular hire. As a Premises License holder we have been ordered by the local authority to close for the time-being but we are able to support COVID response activity. Is there a role for Stanton Village Hall in providing a COVID response or the transition back to normal life? How the Hall is funded This is a difficult time for the Hall financially with no hire income or fortnightly bingo social fundraising. We'd be interested in working with members of our community who can help us develop funding applications to support us with ongoing running costs or projects. We can work entirely over video or telephone calls and emails to support social distancing. This is also a great time to take stock of how we manage the Hall and community activities going forward, and we're exploring whether we can attract support post-COVID to support our community to readjust and engage in social, recreational and educational activities. Can you support funding activity, as part of a team? How would you like us to develop the Hall and its activities going forward? How the Hall is managed We've a high proportion of volunteers in vulnerable categories so when life resumes in some form we're likely to remain light on the ground in terms of volunteers. Our volunteers run the hall on a day-to-day basis including opening up, taking bookings, cleaning and staffing our fortnightly fundraisers. We'd love more support in running the Hall and hope that in doing this together we can develop a greater community spirit. Might you be interesting in volunteering or leading activity with the Hall?

  • Contractors List

As a charity we try to act as transparently as possible as well as ensuring that our money is well spent. To this end, Stanton Village Hall are seeking to identify possible contractors who could quote for future work required in the Hall. We are keen to establish a pool of various tradespeople who we could approach for quotes in the future, meeting our policy of seeking three quotes; All tradespeople should: - be appropriately qualified; - be insured; - be able to demonstrate fair and competitive pricing (preferably that takes account of our status as a registered charity). Trades include: Painters and decorators; joiners; plumbers; gardeners; electrician (PAT, installation and fixed wiring); other general maintenance.
